  • About

After relocating to Reno from Philadelphia, Lauren started in the insurance industry in 1989 with a large company that specialized in ancillary employee benefits. Lauren then changed her focus and went to work for a Fortune 100 national managed care company. She became a broker in 1997 and built a large, successful client base of Nevada and California employers, as well as several multi-location groups across the country.

Realizing the need for a comprehensive, client focused employee benefits agency, Lauren co-founded Benefit Resource Group in 2003 which services employers in both the public and private sector.

She has served as local president as well as a state board member for the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and currently sits on the broker advisory committee of a local HMO in the Reno area.

Dine-In

  • BRG-stayin
  • BBQ Pizza

“During the summer, we almost exclusively cook on our outdoor kitchen and one thing that everyone loves is BBQ Pizza!”

    Ingredients:

    • Pizza Dough
    • Your Favorite Toppings

    Instructions:

    1. Heat up your barbeque
    2.  Roll out your dough into a 12″ or 14″ round (Trader Joe’s Herb pizza dough is always popular).
    3.  When the grill is nice and hot throw the round of dough directly on the BBQ. (Everyone thinks it will slide into the flames, but it actually crisps up fairly quickly.)
    4.  When the bottom side is cooked, flip the dough over.
    5.  Add your favorite toppings ( I like to keep it simple with a great red sauce, mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, and mushrooms.)
    6.  Shut the grill and let everything melt together.
    7.  Instead of slicing the pizza in the traditional “wedge” shape, cut it into squares. (I like to make about 2 or 3 as appetizers!)

Lauren’s favorite dish is the Hangar Steak with Chimichurri sauce. It’s bright and interesting flavor as well as the perfectly cooked steak makes this restaurant the perfect place in downtown Reno! SoDo‘s staff is the best part of the experience, the owner thanks us for our business every time!
